Such groups include: families with dependent children, pregnant women, and sixteen to seventeen year olds (3). Within the outlines of the British government, statutory homelessness is defined as a group of individuals who are unintentionally homeless and in need of priority assistance that the government is required to provide. Homelessness in London can be divided into four main categories: statutory homeless, non-statutory homeless, hidden homelessness and rough sleeping. Therefore, in such a large global city, it should not come as a surprise that homelessness has been and remains a major issue today. In London alone, the resident population stands at 8.204 million people (2). Homelessness is not merely defined as not having a home, it can take many forms from those rough sleeping on the streets, squatting in derelict buildings, sofa surfing friend’s houses, and staying in shelters and hostels (1). Over recent decades the world’s population has been increasing simultaneously with the financial crisis, together the two creating the ideal formula for homelessness.
